Hear Senator Barr Talk The convention opened on Wednes- day, which was the first registration day, and ends tomorrow. The first general session was held yesterday at the Joliet Chamber of Commerce. A part of the program consisted of a talk by State Senator Richard J. Barr, on "Plans and Benefits of Illi- nois Waterway Developments." The afternoon was largely taken up by a series of thirteen talks demonstrating methods and practices of the real estate business. These talks were given by members of boards in towns cou- tiguous to Chicago and were under the direction of Mrs. W. H. Wright, pres- ident of the Suburban Real Estate Board council. In the evening the president's recep- tion and the annual ball were held in the chamber of commerce ballroom. Today's program consisted of a talk on "Know Your Illinois," by Jay W. Miller, instructor in real estate courses, Oak Park. In the afternoon there is an address by State Senator John Dai- ley on "Revenue System of Illinois," and by Henry G. Zander, president of the National Association of Real Estate Boards, on the national organi- zation. The annual banquet is being held tonight. Final Sessions Today Tomorrow morning's session will be featured by an appraisal contest, the awarding of trophies for the various other competitions and the reports of committees.
