Winnetka 330 EAALNAM-PAIGE Nash Sales Gain Strong Position in Minneapolis The rapid increase in Nash sales in recent months which resulted in Nash leading all cars of its field in Cook County last month has been general not only in all other parts of the country, but also in Canada, accord- ing to E. O. Springer of the Suburban Nash Sales of Winnetka. Mr. Spring- er has received figures covering other sections for the Nash factory. "The big strides have come with the introduction of the Four Hundred series" said Mr. Springer. In Hennepin County, Minnesota, in which Minneapolis is located, Nash, in the month of September, registered 103 sales placing first in its class and third in the general list, Ford and Chevrolet running, one, two. Three hundred and forty Fords and 148 Chevrolets were sold. While Nash was making this fine showing, Buick registered 99 sales; Chrysler, 91; Oakland-Pontiac, 73; Hudson-Essex, 67; Whippet-Willys Knight, 63; Studebaker-Erskine, 41; Bodge, 33; Oldsmobile, 31; Graham Paige, 31; Chandler, 23; De Soto, 21; Hupmobile, 18. Of equal interest is the registration report from the entire province of New Brunswick, Canada. Again Nash is the leader in its own field and again third in the general list. A big point to be considered in this connection is that the cost of a car is considerably higher in Canada due to the duty. Here's the way the sales line up in New Brunswick. Ford, Chevrolet, Nash, Buick, Pon- tiac, Whippet-Willys, Dodge, Hudson- Essex, Graham-Paige, Chrysler. Newest Chandler Series Finds Favor With Women According to a survey just com- pleted by the Chandler factory among its entire dealer organization, the new Royal 75 Eight closed models, an- nounced a short time ago, are finding wide buying interest with women. "Fundamentally women like to drive a motor car which provides an aristo- cratic appearance, a minimum of atten- tion and is easy to handle and main- tain," says Tom Hay of Tom Hay and Son, Evanston dealer. "In this new series, Chandler engineers have an- ticipated these essentials, with the re- sult that this 75 line incorporates a style trend in body design that is re- freshing, and a strict departure from commonplace standards. Appoint- ments throughout are noted for their convenience and utility value. This series also provides a wide range of body color choices; and what woman is not as particular about the color of her car as she is about her new gown? "Then, there is the matter of easy handling. A new ball bearing steer- ing mechanism enables any woman to drive and park an one of these new Eights with a minimum of eflort. Ac- cording to Chandler officials, tests have been conducted where the car has been steered with just two fingers. "From the standpoint of lubrication, any woman can lubricate the Royal '75 chassis by just pressing a plunger. This is not only a convenience fea- ture, but a big factor toward efficiency and longevity. "It will be admitted, that women like to drive a car that assures a minimum of driving effort. With this series in- corporating ~~ Westinghouse vacuum brakes, which operate at a touch of the toe on the brake pedal, with one- third less effort than is required to operate the average brake, but with three times the braking effort, it is only reasonable to assume that this feature alone has been a big factor with women showing a keen preference for the Royal Eight '75 Chandler."
