The surface shall then be treated with two coatings of bituminous binder of the quality of Barrett Company Tarvia "A" or its equal, known as "double seal" con- sisting of one third (1/3) gallon of Bar- rett Company Tarvia "A" or its equal, to be applied for each square yard of pavement to be sealed, and then covered with thirty (30) pounds of washed bird's eye gravel to each square yard of such pavement, all within the Village of Win- netka, County of Cook and State of Illi- nois, the ordinance for the same being on file in the office of the Village Clerk of said village, and the said village having applied to the Superior Court of Cook County, Illinois, for a special tax upon the lots, blocks, tracts and parcels of land fronting upon and contiguous to the streets, avenues and public thoroughfares hereinabove provided to be resurfaced, to pay the cost of said improvement, and a special tax therefor having been made and returned to said Court, General Num- ber 485547, the final hearing thereon will be held on the twenty-ninth day of Octo- ber, A. D. 1928, or as soon thereafter as the business of the said Court will per- mit. All persons desiring may file ob- jections in said Court before said day, and may appear on the hearing and make their defense. Greene of 329 Chestnut avenue, Winnetka, is a mem- ber of the committee of the Kentucky Society of Evanston and the North Shore which is taking part in the ar- rangements for the gala time for Ken- tuckians which is taking place this week-end. A dinner will be given at 6:30 o'clock tonight at the Edgewater Beach hotel which is the headquarters for the team and rooters here for the Ken- tucky-Northwestern game. The din- ner will be followed by a half hour program by the Kentucky band with dancing later on in the evening. The reservations for the affair are to be made with Charles E. Clark, secretary of the Kentucky society of Chicago, at the headquarters, 33 South Clark street, Central 8552. The Kentucky Society of Evanston and the North Shore, the Kentucky Society of Chicago, and the Chicago University of Kentucky alumni club are co-operating in giving the affair, which the governor of Kentucky and president of the university will attend. ACCIDENT AT CROSSING A car driven by T. J. Wolsieffer, 930 Elm street, crashed into the rear cf a car driven by Emil Rasmussen, Wau- kegan road, Glenview last Sunday afternoon at the Elm street crossing of the North Western railroad. Ras- mussen stopped his car suddenly when the gateman's warning bell sounded and Wolsieffer, following closely was unable to stop his car The Rasmussen car was damaged.
