October 27, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 63 Car and Ambulance Crash at Prospect and Tower Seldom is an ambulance or a hearse involved in the many automobile col- lisions recorded daily, but the- former type of vehicle was rammed broadside by a car driven by Mrs. Norman Friedenwald of Waukegan, at Pros- pect avenue and Tower road Friday morning of last week. The ambulance escaped serious dam- age and was in shape for an emer- gency run to a hospital, R. Brodwick, the driver, proceeding to his destina- tion, 217 North Cicero avenue, Chi- cago. He was accompanied by M. Mc- Niel, of the same address, owner of the ambulance. A check-up of the damage to Mrs. Friedenwald's car revealed that both fenders on the left side and the left wheel were crushed, according to Of- ficer Harold Lewis. "Religion in Business," Men's Class Discussion "Religion in Business" will be the topic for discussion at the meeting of the Men's class of Winnetka Congre- gational church tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock, directed by the Rev. Ralph Morphett. The class meets in the rooms of Winnetka Post, Ameri- can Legion, at Community House. All men are invited to attend and partici- pate in the discussion. Arrest Reckless Driver After Motor Collision Sunday afternoon when William Campbell, colored, turned his car into Hibbard road, from Elm street, the machine crashed into a car owned by I. S. Young, 445 Drexel avenue, Glen- coe, which was parked at the road- side, the impact overturning Camp- bell"s car. Campbell was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. License-less Motorist in Collision--Arrested Tuesday afternoon as Homer Jones of Niles Center, who was driving on Hill road, turned to pass a car which was entering a private drive, his car collided with a car driven by Wil- liam Whalen, 922 Ash street. Neither of the drivers was injured but both cars were considerably damaged, ac- cording to Officer Frank Wayburn. Jones, who it is charged was driving without either a state license or a chauffeur's license, was placed under arrest. Two Sent to Hospital After Crash on Drive Mrs. Oscar Blumenthal, 165 Maple Hill road, Glencoe, was removed to the Evanston hospital Tuesday afternoon suffering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Sheridan road, between Maple and Humboldt ave- nues, when the car in which she was riding with her husband collided with a car parked at the side of the street. Frederick Wintree of Great Lakes, who was in the other car, was also taken to the hospital. Laurence Pahlman Takes College Golfing Title Word has been received here that Laurence Pahlman, formerly of Wil- mette and now of Evanston, won the golf championship of Campion college, Prairie du Chien, Wis., in a tourna- ment played there recently. Pahlman is a freshman at Campion. The golf champion of that college for the two years previous lost to him this year. Mr. and Mrs, S.
