7 November 3, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 51 Garden Club of Illinois to Hold All-Day Meeting The Garden Club of Illinois, which now includes sixty-two clubs and 3,120 members, is to have its semi-annual meeting in the Hotel Sherman, Bal Tabarin room, Eighth Floor annex, Wednesday, November 14. As the main part of the program for the day, Dudley Crafts Watson will give two lectures, the first at 11:15, the second at 2:30 in the afternoon. In the morn- ing he will use a stereopticon to illus- || trate his talk on, "The Lovliest Gar- || dens I Have Seen." In the afternoon he will give a chalk talk on, "Color in the Garden." A meeting of the board of directors || will precede the morning lecture, and luncheon will be served. Among the north shore clubs which are members of the Garden Club of Illinois are The Wilmette Garden club, The Evening Garden club of Wilmette, the Kenilworth Garden club, the Home and Garden club of Kenilworth, and the Winnetka and Glencoe Garden clubs. Assisting Mrs. Frederick Fisher, the president, in making the arrangements for the luncheon are Mrs. Charles D. Ewer of Wilmette, recording secre- tary, and Mrs. Ernest C. Hoefer of Riverside, vice-president of the Gar- den Club of Illinois. TO MOTOR TO WASHINGTON Mrs. Lorenzo Johnson, 701 Sheridan road, will leave early in November to motor to. Washington, D. C. where she will spend a month at the Mayflower so that she may be near her daughter and her husband, Major and Mrs. Ray- mond Hardenbergh, who are stationed in Washington this winter. Mrs. John- son will return to Winnetka for the holidays. To Sing at Club Mme, Alvene Resseguie of Hubbard Woods, contralto, will be the soloist at the evening meeting of the Wom- an's club of Wilmette Election night. Mrs. Resseguie was chosen as soloist at the North Shore Music festival last spring, and is a member of the North Shore Musical society. DANCE TONIGHT The North Shore Social club will hold a dance at Community House to- night at 8:30 o'clock. Music will be provided by the Milglomae orchestra and tickets may be purchased at the door.
