WINNETKA 313 4 4 nn Enclosed Cars to Protect Cruising Winnetka Coppers Winnetka police, who man the squad cars touring the streets of the Village on the cold, wintry nights now ap- proaching, are to be comfortably quar- tered in brand new enclosed cars, in- stead of the customary touring mo- dels in which the men are subjected to more or less exposure. This change had been under con- sideration for some time, and when the matter was brought to the atten- tion of the Village council last Wed- nesday evening the suggestion was given hearty approval. Village Manager H. I. Woolhiser explained that the two touring cars, each of which has traveled 25,000 miles, are now ready for replacement, and the sedans were recommended. The sedan type of car, it is felt, will not only provide greater comfort for the officers but afford a less obstructed range of vision of the district through which they are driving.
