The diamond shaped tray holds a flat-sided tea pot and a triangular creamer and sugar. If it is to the young person wearing a diamond a dower chest would make an addition to her furniture. Any num- ber of unusual and interesting designs in chests, from the walnut finished ce- dar chest to the elaborately carved Spanish, Venetian, or quaint Dutch chests will make an acceptable present. Crystal Always Popular Crystal glassware will always be pop- ular, no matter what else comes in style in .the meantime. And gold and white china.on a. white linen table cloth will always be used. Speaking of newer things, bone china from England is be- ing used. for the newest service plates. Service plates, according to one author, used to be called "conversation plates," a subject béing painted on the plate to give the bashful diner something about which he might begin conversing. - A dozen novel service plates would make a lovely present, as would one of the new waffle sets for Sunday night sup- per. And now, for the person who loves fine fabrics, there is always one solution. A piece of fine brocade, damask, tapestry, or other material which will fit in beau- tifully in the home will fill the heart of such a person with joy. Where an ugly door leads into a room z. wall hanging. of a beautiful piece of material will conceal the door. - The garden enthusiast will be happy receive a new garden book or two.. Even the wild flower - enthusiast is -always looking for new books 'acclaiming his hobby. An order for a special kind of bulbs or plant cuttings might: thrill the person who has long wanted something for his garden that he has not been able to find or that he has considered just a little too much: of 'a luxury for his garden allowance. The 'panels of a room may be pre- pared in either the scenic paper copied after the French and English or in the new modernistic papers. The comfortable love seat has come to stay as an item in the living room. They are upholstered in satin, brocade, or mohair,
