Tuesday afternoon the chapel serv- ice will open with a candle processional, followed by the Legend of the Christ Child told by Miss Baker with the musical accompaniment by Francis M. Arnold. This legend first told in the. college many years ago by Miss Eliza- beth Harrison, the former president, has become an integral part of the Christmas celebration, The Town Girls' association will hold their first Christmas banquet Tuesday evening, and arrangements are under way for an elaborate affair. The dormitory students will hold their Christmas party on Wednesday night, with turkey dinner, presents, tree and Santa Claus, and early Thursday morn- ing the girls in Avilla hall will awaken the students in the other dormitories with their carol singing. The Christmas festival, in which all students of the college and children of the demonstration school participate. will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Harrison hall. The presenta- tion of gifts for children in the mission schools of Chicago will be followed by a cantata, of the nativity, "There was one who 'gave a lamb". The college will close Thursday for the Christmas vacation, re-opening Tuesday, January 8. Hubbard Woods Principal Gives Tea for Teachers Miss Marion Elwell, principal of the Hubbard Woods school, gave a tea yesterday afternoon from 4 to 5 o'clock for teachers of that school, supervisors, and those directly connected with the work of the school. Mrs. Robert Brown, president of the Parent-Teach- er association in Winnetka, and Mrs. Seth Shepard, social chairman for the Hubbard Woods building, poured. Christmas Seal Sale Nets $34.99 at Hubbard Woods The sale of Christmas seals at the Hubbard Woods school closed on Thursday. A total of $34.99 worth of seals was sold. The sale was conducted for one week by members of the stu- dent council, and was held in the halls of the school in the morning and again in the afternoon just before the open- ing of classes. Miss Doris Ferry, who attends Vas- sar, will arrive home next week for the holidays. Miss Ferry is the daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Montague Ferry of 326 Ridge avenue.
