Masonic Lodge Installs Arne A. Mauland as Master Winnetka Lodge number 1078, A. F. and A. M. hold installation services Tuesday evening, December 11, for the purpose of installing the following officers: Arne A. Mauland, master; Edwin Thompson, senior warden; Walter S. Johnson, junior warden; Allen T. Weinstock, treasurer; Hazen Foster, secretary; Arch O. Wilcox, senior deacon; Perley Conner, junior deacon; William Belter, senior steward; George T. Mullin, junior steward. Those who served as installing offi- cers during the evening were William Mummery, master; Franklin J. Nelson secretary; George Barbery, chaplain; Thomas N. Wheatley, tyler. George Park, chaplain, and Eugene Fager, marshall will be installed at a later date. Wilmette Bank Opens in New Headquarters Today The First National Bank of Wilmette will hold the formal opening today of its new headquarters on Wilmette avenue a half block north of Central avenue. The new building, one of the finest of its kind in this vicinity, helps to beautify the business section of Wilmette. The architects, Hamilton, Fellows and Wilkinson, designed the bank structure in the Italian Roman- esque style. The same architects re- cently planned the new addition to the Skokie school in Winnetka, which pro- vides a big gymnasium. They also were the architects for the Winnetka Trust and Savings bank. Winnetka Lodge No. 1078, A. F. and A. M. together with Winnetka chapter No. 942, Order of Eastern Star, and Skokie Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, will hold their annual Christmas party % for children Saturday, December 22. Packer, dean of girls at New Trier High school and acting principal during the absence of Supt. Frederick E. Clerk, was elected president of the Illinois Association of Deans of Women at the ninth annual conference of that: organization held at the Oak Park River Forest Town- ship High school Saturday. Miss Packer, who succeeds Miss Mary Richardson, dean of the Chicago Latin School for Girls, has been a member of the New Trier faculty since February, 1901, when the school was opened. She has been a resident of the township during all of that time. Her home is in Glencoe. The conference on Saturday was at- tended by 150 delegates from all parts of the state. Other officers elected for this year were: Miss Olive L. Austin, dean at the Illinois Women's college at Jacksonville, vice-president; Miss Frances E. Napier, of Illinois Wesley- an university, Bloomington, secretary, and Miss Alice Henderson of Lombard college, Galesburg, treasurer. Horace Mann Pupils Will Send Gifts to Orphanage In accordance with a custom which has been followed at the Horace Mann school for several years, the children of that school will send gifts and a Christmas tree to the. Lake Bluff or- phanage. = A Christmas tree will be placed in the main hall at the Horace Mann building next week, and the children will bring their gifts and put them under the tree. At the end of the week the gifts will be collected, and will be taken with the tree to the orphanage. A committee of children is attending to the decorating of the tree and the collection of gifts.
