On Sunday and Monday the screen version of Victor Hugo's novel, "The Man Who Laughs," will be presented in sound, with Conrad Veidt, Mary Philbin, and Baclanova playing the leading roles. This picture will be accom- panied by a program of vitaphone acts including the Arnaut brothers, Joe Browiiitig; "and "Hazel Green and band. The New Year will be ushered in at the Alcyon on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with the talking picture "Show Folks," starring Lina Bas- quette and Eddie Quillan. In addi- tion the vitaphone will bring the rich voice of George Dewey Washington and a musical sketch entitled, "Visions of Spain."
