FINE SCHOLARSHIP IN HONOR SOCIETY | For the first time in the history of the school the fine scholarship shown by New Trier students during their four years' course is being acknowl- edged by the public presentation of | pins making them members of an | honor society. At a special gathering ! held ' yesterday morning, in the as- sembly room, twenty students who | have made a splendid record in | scholarship were awarded pins and formed into an honor society that will | set a high standard for students in the | years ahead. The society is composed of ten boys and ten girls. They are fine examples of what can be accomplished through skillful training. By their high grade of workmanship they have estab- lished a custom in the school which will be an incentive to all the other students. The names of the members of the honor society are: Francis Allen, Ogden Cook, Theodore Cox, An- drew Digre, Noble Hale, Merriman Hess, Sydney Huguenin, Malcolm Melville, Hovey Tinsman, James Weart, Jr., May D'Arcy, Gladys Fow- ler, Jane Kendall, Marcelle Laval, Ruth Lieber, Helen Parrish, Mary Quayle, Elizabeth Shipman, Violet Talbot and Cheryl Windes. At the next regular meeting of the Woman's Club on Thursday the pro- gram will be under the charge of the Educational Committee, Miss Cath- erine Beebe, who has done such splen- did work for the Girls' I.eague in Evanston, will talk on "Vacation Oc- cupations." MEN'S CLUB MEETS MONDAY EVENING At the meeting of the Men's <¢lub of the Congregational church, to be held at Community House, Monday evening, the subject of vocational edu- cation will be discussed.
