2 WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, FRIDAY, APRIL 30, 1915. spirit and urges no more bloodshed. The council is interrupted by the en- trance of Malignus. The other birds restrain the woodpeckers, who at- tempt to attack Malignus. He again mourns over Joy's body. The birds and the Queen of Love observe the sincerity of his grief. The Queen pleads with him to give her his bow and arrow and abandon all hatred, and love all birds. He does so gladly, see- ing the futility of his old spirit. Ma- lignus is given a field glass, like the one Beatus has. Now that the Queen of love has completed her work in the heart of Malignus, she restores his Joy to him. The birds are joyful and hold a second jubilee in honor of Joy. Beatus, Malignus, and the Queen of Love stand apart, keenly enjoying the rew- peace among birds and man. Dramatis Personae. Each child dresses and undresses at the Horace Mann, that there may be no confusion or mislaying of neces- sary articles. As the materials must be bought, every child is asked to bring what sum it can, from five cents to $1, and help defray the ex- pense. The entire pageant is under the di- rection of H. P. A PROBABLE CASE OF RABIES. 'What resembled a case of rabies alarmed the family of William R. Whitaker on Hill Road, last Friday. The pet of the children, a little black and tan dog, while playing with them began to stagger about and became irritable. Word was sent to the Vil- lage Hall and Chief of Police Peterson took the little animal into custody. The dog had been properly muzzled. DOG RUN OVER BY MACHINE. A bull terrier belonging to William K. Hoagland on Sunday objected to passing automobiles. One machine so aroused his ire he persisted in trying to stop it by getting in front and slipped from under just in time, twice. The third effort was too much for the determined little dog. A front wheel passed over him killing him. The peo- ple in the machine refused to stop. = LE EE -- and Flower Beds. Compost for Lawns, Greenhouses Also Black Dirt and all kinds of Farm Yard Manure.
