WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, FRIDAY, MARCH 21, 1919 BRIDGES & GAGE SELL HUPMOBILES ON NORTH SHORE The Bridges and Gage automobile firm last week announced it had taken on the Hupmobile agency for the north shore. This firm is now selling Hupmobiles and Franklins. "We believe that in the Hupmobile we have absolutely the best car for the money that is on the American market," declared C. E. Bridges. "It is a real car, and yet it sells for less than some of the other cars in the moderate-price class, which are not made nearly so weil "In fact, we have found that some of the manufacturers of cars in this class in devoting themselves to vol- ume production have been turning out slip-shod, loosely-built cars. The Hupmobile is built right. It is put together with precision and accuracy. It is built to last. We will put it up against any test devised for cars of its class and we know it will win out." Ben B. Gage explained that they had been looking for a long time for an automobile which they could conscientiously boost along with the Franklin, and had finally selected the Hupmobile as the only one which fills the bill. "In all the years that the Hupmo- bile has been on the market," he said,"there has never been one failure. It is as good in its class as the Frank- lin is in its." Bridees and Gage now have sever- al Hupmobiles on display. ORDER CAR NOW, OR i YOU MAY HAVE TO WALK--CUNNINGHAM With the sale of eighteen cars made by his organization within the past week, R. D. Cunningham reit- erated his warning to prospective automobile purchasers that they must place their orders early if they ex- pect to get the car of their choice when they want it. "The demand for good cars so far exceeds the expected supply," he said, "that it is the part of good common sense to place orders now and not delay. "Later on the only cars which will be available for quick delivery will be the poorer" and less desirable makes, which both do not sell readily under normal conditions." Those people who are particular as to what kind of car they ride in will either have to walk or to wait a long time, unless they place their orders early, according to -Cunning- ham. In spite of the snowy weather of the past few weeks, which was not favorable for the automobile busi- ness, his sales show the following totals: One Ford chassis, three Ford runabouts, séven Ford touring cars, two Ford couplets, two Ford one- ton trucks, one Oldsmobile-Six tour- ing car, one Oldsmobile sedan and one Davis-Six touring car. WILMETTE--404 Linden Ave., Opp. N. W. "L."Term. Saturdays, 11 to 12 A. M. | RIDGES & GAGE, 1629 Orrington Ave, Evanston, are now North Shore distributors for the Hup- mobile, a car at a moderate price, capable of perform- ance under all conditions, which would do credit to cars selling at much higher prices. There are many points about the Hupmobile that are worthy of your attention, such as its powerful motor, large, roomy seating arrangement, flexibility of control and economy of operation. Si Baw The Hupmobile 1s called the comfort car and it surely is rightly named. We have a car and driver at your disposal. We wish to show you how it rides and drives even though you do not wish to buy a car. We value our reputation, and sell only the make of cars that give satisfaction to our customers. When we know that a certain make of car 1s better than the one we have been selling, we do not hesitate to change even though the other make may have a larger sale at present. We know the better car will come into its own. The people will soon find out what we already know. We have anticipated your future best welfare. The Hupmobile delivers 20 to 24 miles to a gallon of gasoline. Some similar priced cars we sold the past season delivered about half this mileage. With quan- tity production less care was taken evidently, so that many cars now on the market that have a large sale are still going on past reputation. The cylinders and pistons in the Hupmobile are ground to 2/1000 of an inch clearance, and not simply reamed and assembled. Economy, comfort, absence of repairs, ease of handling and tire mileage exceed your most exaggerated expectations. BRIDGES & GAGE 1629 Orrington Avenue, Evanston Telephone Evanston 5886 oy on
