The affair will take the form of a reception to the new president and her board, and to the new members. On Thursday afternoon of next week, the Winnetka Woman's club will hold its opening in the form of a political meeting. Mrs. Fletcher Dobyns, chairman of the Illinois Republican Women's Executive committee, will speak for the Republican party, and Mrs. Samuel Slade, chairman of the Executive committee for Chicago, Cook and Lake counties, for the Democratic party. The Socialist party will be represented by Mrs. S. Vera L. Rodriquez, and the Farm and Labor party by Miss Lillian Herstein. The Woman's Library club of Glencoe, wishes to announce that Mrs. Kenneth Rich of the Woman's The Philanthropy department of the Wilmette Woman's club will not meet until October 22, on account of the card party which is to be given for the benefit of Community House at the home of Mrs. T. A. Copeland, 930 Chestnut avenue, on Friday after- noon, October 8. The Neighbors of Kenilworth will hold their first meeting of the season on Thursday afternoon of nert week, at the Kenilworth Assembly Hall, at 2:30 o'clock. The speaker of the day will be Mr. Wallace Bruce Almsbary and his subject, "Romance and Poetry of the Northland". Professor Dodds of the University of Chicago is to give a course of lectures entitled "From Lincoln to Wilson" at the Winnetka Woman's club at 8 o'clock beginning Monday evening, October 11. NORTH SHORE GOLF CLUB HOLDS FINAL GATHERINGS The final dinner and bridge of the North Shore Golf club will be held on Wednesday evening, October 6, at the Kenilworth club house. Re- servations are to be made before Tuesday noon of next week. The annual meeting of the North Shore Golf club will be held Friday evening, October 9. There will be the annual election of officers.
