Mr. Howard Shurtleff of 815 Lake avenue, left Wednssday evening 'on "an extended business trip to St. Louis and through Oklatoma. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Dennick cele- brated the fifty-third anniversary of their wedding on Friday of this week. There were many relatives and friends of the family present. On Friday of last week the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity entertained with an informal dancing party at the Ouilmette Country club. The engagement is announced of Miss Frances R. Stern, daughter of D. S. Stern, of the Chicago Beach hotel, to Adolph Rosenthal. Mr. and Mrs. Charles McNie and daughter, Margery, 26 Forest ave- nue, have gone to Denver for a ten day's stay. The East Elm street circle will meet at the home of Mrs. Arthur S. Littlefield, 546 Elm street, at 10 o'clock next Monday morning. Mrs. R. IL. Downs, who recently has returned from her summer home, has as her houseguests Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln, of Hazelhurst, Wis. The Village Dancing club will en- tertain with a dancing party next Tuesday evening at the Winnetka Woman's club. The third of the series of Winnetka Assembly dances took place last evening at the Winnetka Woman's club. The Tuesday Evening Bowling club will give a dancing party this even- ing at the Woman's clubhouse. Mr. Harry Davis is leaving shortly for a month's sojourn in Florida.
