The North Shore Aces, New Trier township's crack basket ball five, ~ made the highly touted Buena A. © C's look like weak sisters at the ~ Chicago gym last Saturday evening walking away with a 40 to 10 en- ~ gagement. Ligare and Gruver starred for the locals. = On Wednesday the North Shore = lads trimmed the Wilmette A. C. ~ squad 28 to 3 just to show they didn't mind trimming some of the boys in their own territory. The Aces were scheduled to play the Mark A. C. five of Evanston, in| ~~ Winnetka last evening. : The North Shore Aces are an all- star aggregation of basket flingers and have yet to meet defeat though their toughest encounters are still in the offing. The Aces are to meet the top-notch outfits of the city in- cluding the formidable "Big Five" 2d by the stellar Paddy Driscoll of national football fame who likewise plays a fast running guard role on the basket ball floor. The Aces meet the Wilson avenue Exmoors on the Winnetka floor this evening. The North Shore Aces line-up in- cludes Ligare, Northwestern; Mur- phy, Loyola; Gruver, Illinois; Caden- head, Lane; Fahey, New Trier High school and other stars of known ability. The team is under the man- agement of John J. Hartnett, of Winnetka. ~~ NEW TRIER LOSES TWO. New Trier light and heavyweight basketball teams submitted to their first defeats of the present league schedule Saturday evening at La Grange, the Rand and Kershaw clan dropping a 17-15 tilt and the heavies losing a 20-19 engagement. La Grange is scheduled to appear Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the north shore school, at which time Coach Childs hopes to avenge the loss. OUILMETTE K of C. BOWLERS TAKE 2 FROM EVANSTONIANS The Ouilmette Council, Knights of Columbus bowlers, went into a tie with Columbus for third place Mon- day evening when they twice defeat- ed the Newmanites of Evanston, sub- mitting to one defeat in return. Uni- "versity took a trio of tilts from Columbus. Kutten rolled high game of the evening for the locals when he scored 214 pins. Steiner made seven strikes in the third game but was kept from rolling a high game by two "rail- roads" and a "break." Ouilmette vs. University and Columbus vs. New- man next Tuesday evening. NEW TRIER HIGH PLANS GREAT PAGEANT IN JUNE In view of the fact that the ter- centenary celebration of the Landing of the Pilgrims is assuming extensive | recognition throughout the United States this year, New Trier Town- ship High school has decided to give a pageant recalling this event, in place of the usual Spring exhibit « the High school next June. The High school is planning to make this pageant quite elaborate, Its program is now being carefully worked out by various committees representing all departments of the school, and every phase of school activities.
