Mr. Scott, it is announced, has severed connection with the Western Undertaking Company and leased the business location at 1124 Central ave- nue, where he is to be established af- ter May 1. Mr. Scott has been engaged in the undertaking business for 25 years having served his apprenticeship in Chicago. About 16 years ago he be- came associated with the late J. L. His first job was in a general store in a small Illinois hamlet. He is a veteran of the Span- ish-American war in which he saw | active service in the Porto Rican and Cuban expeditions. He has been for years identified with Evanston and north shore civic enterprises and is prominent in fraternal circles. "CHICK" EVANS HONOR GUEST AT GOLFERS' BANQUET There is "something new," reads the announcement, in the scheduled Golf banquet to be given Tuesday evening, March 22, in honor of "Chick" Evans, National and Western Amateur Champion, in the Ball Room of the Hotel La Salle, Chicago. The banquet, an informal affair, is under auspices of the Cook County Municipal Golf association of which Robt. W. McKinlay is president. Peter N. Jans, director of the Evanston Municipal Golf association, including several Wilmette golfers in its mem- bership, is one of the leaders in- strumental in planning this honor for the famous north shore player.
