Atwood, G. Marks, E. Jones, K. King, K. Davis, G. Conner, W. Tencher, W. Jameson, G. Veeder. Next lower: H. Ambler, H. Jones, K. Mordoch, D. Den- nett, E. Purnell, A. Kennedy. Second lower: R. Wood, J. Robertson, R. Skelton, Captain Kerr, P. Corbett, J. Hamilston, J. Bell. Lower: H, Newport, W. Schmedtgen, R. Cody, E. Younker. The above group of sturdy athletes represents the largest squad of prep swimmers ever coached in a single season by a New Trier director. It likewise comprises one of the largest groups of prep natators in the coun- try of the 1920-21 season. Coach E. B. Jackson, who taught all of the above boys everything they know about swimming has a reputa- tion as one of the leaders in the Middle West. His record and that of his team is enviable. Since he took charge of the "tank" at New Trier High in 1918 the north shore school has not been defeated by a Suburban league swimming out- fit. Oak Park has been able to trim every team in the Suburban league in other departments of school sport, usually with ease, but even they admit that the north shore boys are their superiors in the water sports. At the recent National Interschol- astic meet, held at the Illinois A. C. in Chicago, New Trier finished second to Lane Tech. Such strong teams as Northern High of Detroit and sever- al Milwaukee and eastern squads were forced to accept lower marks. Skelton is without a peer in the junior breast stroke event. He holds the world's record for the 220-yard breast stroke negotiating it in 3:01 1-5. Schmed'gen is also a star hold- ing the National Interscholastic fancy diving record. Another star on the above picture is Kerr who was handicapped during the present season by a crippled knee caused by an accident in the Oak Park-New Trier football game last fall. New Trier is entered in the Inter- scholastic tourney to be held at Northwestern University tank Sat- urday evening, April 2. Some of the natators not in the above group but who were with the squad during the season are Blake, Crook, Donaldson, Frazer, Osgood, / Stoddard, Moses, Wheatley and Welch. $2095 AT EVANSTON HAYNES 50 is here ~ JANS-LAMKE MOTOR CO. 1013-1017 Davis St. Phones: Evanston 4250--6020 "Easy" Vacuum Washer ~FA DARBY.
