WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, MAY 21, 1921 2 , WINNETKA PLAN BOOK WILL SOON BE READY The Winnetka Plan Commission reports that the printing of the Win- netka Plan Book is well under way and that it will be ready for distri- bution to our citizens at an early date. The publication is being direct- ed by Mr. Merritt Lum. Over $1,300 has been contribut- ed by Winnetka residents toward the fund necessary to place the Winnet- ka Plan in every home in the viliage. At a recent meeting of the Viilage Hall committez, the building of the new Village Hall was considered and architects were authorized to pre- pare preliminary sketches and plans for carrying out the rocommendations of the Plan Commission for the lo- cation of the Village Hall on Linden street, between Cak and Elm streets. After the completion of minor ad- justments, this turbine will be placed in continuous operation at the piant and will serve to decrease the fuel consumption as well as to provide additional reserve capacity to meet the growing demands of the commu- nity for electric service. FIRE DESTROYS BARN i Fire this week destroyed a barn on the A. Lindman farm on Talman road. The Winnetka ire department saved other buildings on the premises. A chimney fire at the home of W. P. Happ, 826 Spruce street, partially de- stroyed the roof of the structure. COVER DUMPING GROUNDS The old Winnetka Village, dumping grounds are to be rolled and cover- ed so as to be made less unsightly, according to information from the Department of Public Works.
