WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, MAY 21, 1921 George Schaefer, Motorcyclist, Nabs Four Bike Bandits Four. Chicago vouths bent on pilfer- ing a bicycle apiece from the "park- ing place" at the Central avenue school grounds, are telling it to the Juvenile authorities in Chicago be- cause of some efficient and patient work on the part of one George Schaefer, Wilmette motorcycle police- man. Schaefer noticed the quartet loiter- ing near the school grounds at about 10:30 d'clock Wednesday morning. Observing the miscreants from a point of vantage he waited until they were in the act of riding away on four perfectly good bicycles and then stepped into the situation with the heavy arm of the law. The youthful bandits wound up amidst hysterical sobbing at the Wilmette police head- quarters. They gave ngmes, ages and addresses as follows: Joe Kasper, 13, 1950 West Huron street; John Cardi- nell, 15, 1858 North Washtenaw ave- nue; John Tibito, 15, 1956 West Erie street; John Witcha, 13, 859 North Paulina street. The boys named two men living in their neighborhood as accomplices. Chicago police were no- tified to search for these men. While few bicycle have been stolen in Wilmette in recent months it was thought the boys were responsible for many similar thefts in other north shore towns. DO YOU NEED A MAID--USE OUR "WANT ADS".
