The Children's Chorus has sung at the festival since its begin- ning, thirteen years ago, and has become one of the regular el tures of festival week. At present the chorus consists of children from the schools of Evanston, Wilmette and Glencoe, and numbers approximately 1,500 of the children of the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. A large number of choruses and cantatas have been sung during these festivals, all with the accompaniment of the complete orchestra and all in a manner which has made the Children's Concert well known not only to the patrons of the festival but to the coun- try at large. The children who will sing at Ravinia are selected from the in- termediate schools of Evanston. This selection is made because it is the most practical way of grouping together a number of chil- dren who know the festival music. leans, who is visiting her daughter, Mrs. 'Charles Lobdell of Chicago. At first they were delighted, but when they see the tremendous in- convenience to which they are placed their joy changes to mourn- | ing, and finally when they are in complete despair the good fairy appears again and restores them to their normal size. As in all the old time fairy tales the moral is sung, na: nely, that we vad each be contented as we are and make the best of our own oppor- tunities. : Four songs of eminent composers are sung with exquisite or- chestra accompaniment and the program closes with the singing of patriotic songs, the audience joining in the "Star Spangled Banner". The soloist of the performance, Mr. Millo Picco, is one of the celebrated baritones of the Metropolitan Opera company. He has appeared for a number of seasons at Ravinia and is a prime favorite with Ravinia audiences. * Xx * Another most attractive June wed- basket of..roses and delphineum. ding took place on Saturday evening John Klauke" served his brother as last, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. best man and the ushers were Fran- Will Conrad Braun, when their cis Geimer and Frank Klauke.
