10 WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3, 1921 EVANSTON HOSPITAL ADDITION NOW OPEN Public of North Shore Invited to Inspect New Addition Tomorrow and Sunday; Open for Use in Near Future. DEDICATION DAY SUNDAY W. W. Buchanan, Recently Re- elected President of Trustees Tells of Plans for Future. The new addition to the Evanston hospital, which has been under con- struction for nearly two years will be dedicated Sunday, December 4, at 3 o'clock, it was announced this week. W. W. Buchanan, president of the board of trustees, stated that the building will be practically completed by that time, and that it will be open for public inspection by the residents of the north shore both December 3 and 4. LET "The furniture will have been re- ceived," he said, "and distributed to all the rooms excepting those on the fourth floor, and any one interested will be able to get an exact idea of the arrangement and appearance of the addition in its completed form." Open for Inspection. Miss Ida B. McLeery, superintend- ent of the hospital, has extended a cordial invitation to the public to visit the hospital on those days. "We shall be in readiness to re- ceive visitors from two to five and from seven to nine, both Saturday and Sunday of next week," she said. "Because of a few minor details pending arrangement, however, the annex will not be used for patients until a short time later." * Relative to the possibility of fur- the developments at the hospital, Mr. Buchanan, last week re-elected presi- dent of the board of trustees, says: "The question frequently arises as to the possible further extension of accommodations of the Evanston hos- pital. This matter has been carefully considered by your board in order that the present addition should be laid out as to readily admit of en- largement. "In going through the building you will be able to note that the corri- dors can be continued to the north, that the diet kitchens, supply rooms, etc.,, are so located that they will be easily accessible, and that the ele- vators are conveniently placed for a further addition." The total cost of building and equipment of the new annex 'is $564,407.93, as compared to collections of $440,980.51. That leaves a balance to raise of approximately $105,000. The raising of this money is the most important activity in prospect before the directors this coming year. In her report, Miss McLeery stated that in the last year the hospital has cared for 3/427 patients, with a daily average of 96.
