Gilmore of Bever- lay Hills, Cal, formerly of Winnet- ka, has announced the engagement of her daughter, Isabel, to Freder- ick Davis Van Sicklen of San Fran- cisco. No date has been set for the wedding. The last of a series given by Miss Myra Reynolds at the Winnetka Woman's club will be given Monday afternoon, December 12, at three o'clock. She will speak on "The Beg- gar's Opera". Miss Kathryn Greene] will sing a group of songs with the! opera. There will be no charge to! those holding course tickets. Mrs. Charles Warren of Louisville, Ky., announces the marriage of her daughter, Myra Aldridge, to Mr. Harry Hurlbut, son of Mrs. Charles N Hurlbut of Wilmette, on Saturday, November 26. The young couple are spending their honeymoon in Tenn- essee, and upon their return will make their home in Hinsdale. Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Case will give a dance for their daughter, Caro- lyn, at the Winnetka Woman's club, on the evening of Friday, December 23. Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Prouty and three children returned home on Thanksgiving Day from their summer home, "Binkie Lodge" on the Fox river. Miss Alicia Pratt has resumed her classes in interpretation and ballroom dances on Wednesday at the Win- netka Woman's club. A Bridge party for the benefit of the Girl Scouts will be given at the Winnetka Woman's club on Wednes- day, December 7, at two o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph H. Hobart, 660 Prospect avenue, are receiving con- gratulations upon the birth of a son, Thanksgiving Day at the Evanston Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allis Ball and their small son, Charles, of 484 Elder lane, spent a few days this week with Mrs. Ball's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Wilder in Evanston. Mr. Clarence Happ has returned from Webstep City, Ia., where he spent the Thanksgiving week-end as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. George Crosley and family. The Executive Board of the New America Shop will meet Monday, December 5, at 1:30 p. m. in Room 921 Fine Arts building, Chicago. Mr. Arthur Taylor, who is in Racine, Wis., this winter, spent last week-end at his home, 319 Scott ave- nue. The Four Corners Dancing club will hold another of its series of affairs on Saturday evening, December 10 at the Community House. Indian Hill Country club will open its winter sport season with a dinner- dance this evening. Miss Elizabeth Duffy has returned from Knox, Indiana, where she spent Thanksgiving and the week-end. Jack Metcalf ,small son of Mr. and John Metcalf, is convalescing at his home from a tonsil operation. Mrs. Carleton W. Washburne, 467 Chestnut street, is spending several weeks with relatives in Athens, Ga. Friendship Circle Holds Annual Dance Thriving Club of Working Girls Plans Further Aid for Crippled Child- ren Friendship Circle of Winnetka is to give its annual dance at Community House, Tuesday evening, December 13, at 8:30 o'clock. The club last year realized suffi- cient funds to purchase a brace for a! little girl who was suifering from the effects of infantile paralysis. It is hoped that this year enough money will be secured to make more than one child happy and well. The club this year has practically doubled its membership and each meeting sees two or three new faces. "They have such good times", one of the sponsors declared, "that they cannot stay away".
