WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1921 3 Girls Good Cooks? Just See What Boy Scouts Did The joke of it all is that the Camp Fire Girls made such a success of their Food sale two weeks ago that the Boy Scouts turned verdant with envy. Did they sit back and mope about it? They did not. Last Thursday Troop No. 1 of the Boy Scouts conducted a Food con- test at Community House. Each mem- ber of each patrol cooked or baked or fried some delicacy such a cup- cakes, fruit cake, fudge, bacon and eggs, etc. Judges of the contest were Charles Rummler and Luther Adams, assist- ant scout masters. Successful chefs received credit toward their scout merit records as reward for their culinary capabilities. FALSE ALARM Reports of a boat afire off Willow street Wednesday night brought a squad of police to the lake shore af- ter they had notified the Evanston Coast Guard station. The boat was there alright but the "fire" was only the ship's lights. Some boys had sum- moned the police. The classes in Parliamentary Law and Public Speaking, which have been conducted at the Woman's club by Mrs. Maurice H. Lieber, will close on Monday, December 12.
