WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1921 OPEN FINE RESORT AT TOMBEAU FARMS Wilmette Man Interested in Project Which Will Provide Excellent Summer Resort in Wis- consin Of interest to the people of the north shore will be the development of a high class restricted summer re- sort near Lake Geneva. This is being built by the Nipper- sink Lodge association on the famous Tombeau Farms belonging to E. G. Shinner and aggregating over 700 acres. The development is in the hands of the American Park Build- ers, well-known landscape architects, headed by Myron H. West, 1240 Greg- ory avenue, Wilmette, who is also se- cretary of the association, which has offices at 201 E. Ontario street, Chi- cago. An eighteen hole golf course has already been constructed, which is considered one of the finest in the middle west. This has a play course of sixty-four hundred yards and pos- sesses some unusually sporty holes. ~ Work has been begun on a dining hall, lodge buildings and one hun- dred cottages, which are being de- signed in English style. These build- ings in reality constitute a magnifi- cent summer hotel, the cottages tak- ing the place of rooms and a separ- ate dining hall serving the guests. In conjunction there will be oper- ated a 350 acre farm to furnish Jer- sey milk, chickens, eggs, berries, fruits and vegetables. Besides golf there will be provided facilities for boating, canoeing, ten- nis, baseball and other games and community stables will be provided with a number of fine saddle horses.
