One of the most interesting events of the summer season {it is said, will be the Lake Forest Flower Show to be given under the auspices of the North Shore Horticultural society and the Lake Forest Garden Club Satur- day, June 17, and Sunday, June 18, from noon until late evening, at Gor- ton School. The school is situated conveniently near the Chicago and Northwestern station and the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee railway. Tickets will admit the holders not only to the show but also to four beautiful private gardens on the es- tates of Louis F. Swift, Walter S. Brewster, T. E. Donnelley, on Green Bay road, Joseph Cudahy on Deer Path and Hugh J. McBirney on Laurel road. Small banners at the entrance of each open estate will guide the vis- itors. Tickets may be purchased at any of these gateways as well as at the Gorton school. Present Beautiful Array. At the show will be displayed roses Smith, John Chapman and George A. McKinlock, Iris, Peonies, and Colum- bine from Miss Underwood and Miss Madeleine Newell, hothouse plants' in rare variety from the conserva- tories of Prentiss Coonley, Clyde M. Carr and A. B. Dick, wild flowers from the private wild flower preserves of the Garden club members, and many other fine displays. Decorated dinner tables will be ex- hibited by Mrs. Laurence Armour, Mrs. Edward L. Ryerson, Mrs. Joseph M. Patterson, Mrs. Arthur Bevan, Mrs. Charles Pike and Mrs. W. P. Martin. Every effort is made by the pro- fessional and amateur gardeners to en- sure the success of the show that it may be of educational and artistic value to the neighborhood.
