The week beginning Monday, May 28, will be another memorable season for Hoyburn Movie patrons. Starting the week's activities will be the extremely active Johnnie Walker in his latest trimuph, "The Fourth Musketeer". Shar- ing the bill for the first three days of the week will be Harold Lloyd's "Sailor Made Man". Another sorority benefit scheduled for next week at the Hoyburn. "Vanity Fair", taken from Thackerey's famous novel of that title will be the vehicle. It will be shown in a Gamma Phi Beta benefit on Thursday, May 31. Players on the cast include Harrison Ford, Mabel Balin, Eleanor Boardman and Hobart Bosworth. Jack London's story, "The Abysmal Brute," will appear in a film version at the Hoyburn on Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2. In the cast are Reginald Denny, Mabel Julien Scott and Buddy Messenger. Douglas McLean and Madge Bellamy will be the stars in the Saturday Morn- ing children's program at the Hoyburn on June 2. The picture is the "Hotten- tot". There will be shows as 9:30 and at 11 o'clock. Scheduled for early showing at the Hoyburn are "Within the Law", starring Norma Talmadge ;! and "Heroes of the Street", with Wesley "Freckles" Barry in the leading role. The celebrated picture "Minnie" is showing at the Hoyburn this week-end. rr | Howard Theater Hatt 4 Katherine McDonald, the beautiful, will be the Sunday attraction at the Ho- ward on May 27. The picture is "The Lonely Road", called "the story of a wife who walked the lonely road of marriage and the child who kept her there". It is from a story by Charles Logue. Wesley Barry will be at the Howard the first three days of next week in his lastest successful venture "Heroes of the Street" . Norma Talmadge will grace the Ho- ward silver sheet for three days beginning Thursday, May 31, in her latest triumph, "Within The Law". Lew Cody, Eileen Percy and Jack Mulhall are other stars in the cast. "Within The Law" is the film adaptation of the famous stage suc- cess of that title. The picture depicts the workings of a band of blackmailers who always remain just within the law. This famous American drama, one critic has said, provides Miss Talmadge with the greatest play of her career. The Howard attraction on Sunday, June 3, will be "Masters of Men". Pola Negri, heralded by many critics as the greatest emotional actress on the present day screen, will be seen at the Adelphi, Monday and Tuesday, May 28 and 29, in her first American production, "Bella Donna". Of Pola Negri in "Bella Donna" the Chicago Tribune has said: "Pola is great in a great film. Her art makes other stars seem crude. There is nobody just like her. The picture is splendidly put on. Congratulations to Pola Negri the dynamic". Conway Tearle, Lois Wilson and Conrad Nagel are other favorites in this drama. "Minnie", starring Leatrice Joy, will be seen at the Adelphi on Wednesday and Thursday, May 30 and 31. Leatrice Joy gives a remarkable performance in this film, it is said. She entered the movie world by winning a beauty prize, yet in this picture she is the "homely girl" and she makes herself look the part. It is 2 i character for Leatrice, the beauti- ul. The Adelphi attraction on Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2 will be "The Toll of the Sea," a romantic drama of the Orient, starring Kenneth Harlan and Anna May Wong. It is the first photo- play shown in natural colors. SCREEN CLIPPINGS Irvan Willat hasn't directed a picture for a long time without some kind of water scene figuring in it. In his latest picture for Paramount "Fog Bound" in which Dorothy Dalton is starred, he has a series of lake and swamp scenes which were made in Florida. The picture before that, "On the High Seas," had plenty of ocean background. The stoutest and thinnest men in the Paramount organization worked together in the production of "Sixty Cents An Hour," a new picture. Walter Hiers is the star and Joseph Henabery, who has never had to go on a diet, is the director.
