WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, JUNE 9, 1923 MUST HAVE TAGS AT GOLF LINKS Park Board Lays Down Law For Playfield Course Strict enforcement of regulations at the Winnetka Playfield Golf course was promised by the Board of Com- missioners of the Winnetka Park district in issuing the accompanying set of definite rules governing play on the municipal links. The regulations are as follows: 1. No resident of Winnetka may play wtihout a registration tag. No Non-resident may play unless the greens fee or guest fee has been paid. All resident fees, greens fees and guests fees must be paid in full in advance. 2. All players must register with the starter, residents registering their tag numbers and non-residents their receipt numbers. 3. All play will start at the first tee, players being started in four- somes every five minutes. Every other starting place may be reserved by residents not earlier than one week in advance. Reservations will be for- feited if not taken up when called by the starter. 4. The remaining starting places (known as "open time") and forfeited reservations will be allotted to resi- dents and non-residents alike in order of application at the first tee on the day of play. At least three players must be present to secure an "open time" place. 5. A resident may introduce not more than three bona fide guests who must play with such resident. 6. Children 15 years of age or un- der unless accompanied by parent are not permitted to use the Golf Course after 12 o'clock noon on Saturday, or at any time on Sunday or holidays. Minors not actually playing golf on the course or engaged in caddy service will not be permitted in or about any pond or on any other por- tion of the Golf Course. One boy specifically authorized by the starter will be assigned to each pond for the recovery of balls. 8 Minors may engage. in caddy service but will do so at their own risk. McKerchar Given Major Grade in Reserve Corps Malcolm McKerchar, World war vet- eran and commander of Wilmette Post No. 46 of the American Legion, has been promoted, on examination, to the grade of Major of Cavalry and has been assigned to the 65th Cavalry Division in the Reserve Corps. Major McKerchar was a captain in overseas duty during the World war. He is an attorney with offices in Chi- cago. Clinic Day at Health Center Set for June 26 Clinic Day at the Grosse Point Health Center is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, at 10 o'clock in the morning. Dr. H. H. As has been previously announced, the famous Chicago band, under the direction of Conductor Weil, has been secured to provide the program of music. There will be the usual athletic events on the Village com- mon with the street dance in the evening, it is expected. Featuring the day, will be the formal dedication of the Hubbard Woods park, including a flag-raising ceremony at the site of the new flag pole to be erected at the park by the Park board. The complete program will be an- nounced at an early date. Movies and Party Will Boost Yacht Club Fund A motion picture show and party are to be held this evening at the Skokie school for the benefit of the Skokie Yacht club Camp fund. The feature of the evenings enter- tainment will be the showing of Harold Lloyd's comedy, "Never Weaken." The general public is invited to this evening of festivity. [Skokie Music Groups Are Heard in Annual Concert Music groups of the Skokie public school appeared in an interesting con- cert Friday evening of this week as one of the features of the Commence- ment season. The Girls' Glee club, Boys' Glee club and the school or- chestra contributed to the success of the program. The concert was given under the personal direction of. Mrs. Philemon B. Kohlsaat, supervisor of music in the public schools.
