They will attend a per- formance of the Chauve Souris now playing in a prominent Loop theater. North Shore Window & School Plans Interesting Program for Assemblies The Horace Mann school has in- augurated daily Assemblies to meet from 11:25 to 11:45 every school day except Tuesday. It is planned to have outside talent provide the program at the Monday assembly and parents of school chil- dren will be asked to offer their serv- ices in co-operating on that day. The Wednesday assembly will be in charge of one of the grades and Fri- day will be given over to a business meeting. Parents of Horace Mann pupils are cordially invited to attend tliese daily assemblies. VISITS HORACE MANN SCHOOL Miss Jackson, instructor in the Michigan State Normal school was the guest in the village last week of Miss Livia Youngquist, a teacher in the Horace Mann school. She also paid a visit to the school. Women to Hear Lecture on European Situation The Winnetka League of Women Voters will join with the Civics com- mittee of the Winnetka Woman's club in an open meeting Thursday, January: 24," at 2.30 o'clock at the club house. Professor Quincy Wright, of the University of Chicago, will speak of the present situation in Europe. Mr. Wright is well known author- ity in international law. He has rec- ently come to the University of Chi- cago, and it is considered good for- tune to have him present this sub- ject at this time. It is hoped that many will avail themselves of the op- portunity to hear Mr. Wright. Leads State with 650 Members Winnetka's Parent-Teacher associ- ation stands first in point of member- ship among all the parent-teacher as- sociations in the state of Illinois, ac- cording to a report embodied in a re- cent bulletin issued from headquarters of the Illinois Council of Parent- Teacher associations. The bulletin reads: "Up to date, the Winnetka Parent- Teacher association stands first with 650 members; Carter Practice of Chi- cago, second, with 365 members, and Parker High school of Chicago, third, with 340 members." INDOOR LEAGUE OPENS The Indoor Baseball league of Win- netka will open its season of play in Community House gymnasium Friday evening, January 25. Several teams are said to have been organized in the village.
