LTN7-tfc | ENGINE RE- RATHBONE SEEKS RE-NOMINATION Congressman at Large States His Reasons In a letter directed to the editor of Wilmette Life this week, Henry Riggs Rathbone, congressman at large for Illinois, announces his candidacy for re-nomination at the primaries next fall. "I deeply appreciate the high honor that 'has been conferred upon me by the people of Illinois and the con- fidence they have placed in me. It is my earnest desire to serve all the people to the very best of my ability. I feel that my work has only just be- gun, as the first session of Congress during my term of office commenced on December 23, 1923. In all fairness I think I may ask to be continued in office in order that I may be given a reasonable opportunity to make good. I have visited every county in our state and have met many thousands of its citizens. The people of Illinois know me and I rely upon them for re-nomination." Mr. Rathbone is a well known Chi- cago attorney whose home is in Kenil- worth. For the past several years he has been particularly interested in promoting the interests of the proposed St. Lawrence--Gulf Waterway project. He is a wonderful speaker and is probably best known as an authority on the life of Abraham Lincoln. PLAN MASK BALL The Dellwood Club of Evanston will hold its ninth annual Prize Mask ball Thursday evening, January 31, at 8 o'clock. There will be prizes for the most original and most comical cos- tumes. Music is to be furnished by the North Shore Harmony Boys' orchestra.
