Williams Macy Eastern School Expert Speaks at Horace Mann Mrs. Marrietta = Johnson, prominent educator of Fiarhope, Ala., spoke Fri- day evening of this week at the audi- torium of the Horace Mann school be- fore a large and enthusiastic audience of teachers and parents. She told of the work OLDER BOYS CONDUCT ANNUAL CONFERENCE Today and Sunday are red letter days for the young men of the north shore, several hundred of whom will meet at Community House for the annual North Shore Older Boys' conference held under auspices of the Y. M. C. A. and the Hi- Y organizations of New Trier, Evans- ton, Highland Park and the North Shore Country Day school. Prominent among the speakers in the two-day session will be George Huff, rthletic director at the University of Illinois. The conference will have meetings this afiernoon and evening and on Sun- day afternoon. It opens with a general meeting this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at which the speaker will be Dr. Edmund D. Soper of Northwestern university. The singing will be led by C. G. Moser of the Evanston Y. M. C. A. There will be an open forum conducted by Clifford D. Manshart. Discussion led by various boys will follow. A feature of the conference will be a recreation hour conducted by Harry L. Clarke, director of athletics at Commun- ity House. The conference dinner will be served at 6 o'clock this evening with several Winnetka "dads" acting in the capacity of waiters. Arrangements for the din- ner are in the hands of John Marshall and Burton H. Atwood. Director Huff and Principals W. F. Beardsley and Frederick E. Clerk of Evanston and New Trier high schools, respectively, will be the speakers. The Sunday meeting of the conference will be held at 3:30 o'clock in Rudolph Matz hall. Dr. Fred D. Stone, promin- ent in boys' work in Chicago, will be the speaker. His subject will be, "The Strongest Link."
