WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, APRIL 4, 1925 QUICK AID FOR TORNADO REGION Carload of Household Goods Enroute New Trier high school's drive for a box-car load of clothing and house- hold utensils to be sent into the strick- en tornado area downstate is meeting with enthusiastic cooperation from north shore residents and they expect to send the car on its way late this week. Among the articles donated are 15 beds, a washing machine, a sewing machine, clothing, and many other articles. Such things as blankets, mat- tresses and other bedding and kitchen utensils of all kinds are sorely needed. When everything possible has been collected those in charge of the cam- paign will load the material into the freight car which awaits on a siding in Winnetka and the load will be sent to Crossville, where it will be dis- tributed under the supervision of C. N. Stokes, a member of the faculty, whose mother lost her life in the dis- aster. The collection of donations is being carried on by a student committee at the high school, which is divided into four groups, one for each village. As- sistance is given by children in the grammer schools of some of the villages. Cash donations are also ac- cepted by the workers.
