Choir- master Ellis E. Chase announces the following program: Prelude--"Answer," by Wosten- holm; "Meditation," by Pache; "Te Deum," in D, Woodward. Anthem--"I will mention the Lov- ing Kindness of the Lord," Sullivan; Solo by Edwin McCready. Postlude--Marche Solennelle, Lem- aigre. The choir, now consisting of a group of 50 men and boys, is busily engaged each week with rehearsals for the win- ter. Christ Church school convenes as Edward Johnson First Artist-Recital Singer On Monday evening, October 12, the celebrated tenor, Edward Johnson, will inaugurate the artist-recital series of the Winnetka Music club at the New Trier assembly hall. Mr. Johnson will give a recital of classic and modern songs. Mr. Johnson is pre-eminent not only in recital but also in grand opera, hav- ing unusual histrionic as well as inter- pretative ability. He is an important member of the Chicago Grand Opera company, being entrusted with out- standing roles. He has also given sev- eral recitals in Chicago and elsewhere, always attracting large audiences. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carlstrand and family, formerly of Garland avenue, have returned from their summer home on Round Lake and will make their Mrs. Anna Lena Bell is Summoned by Death Mrs. Anna Lena Bell, wife of Ed- ward R. Bell, 840 Center street, pas- sed away Friday, September 18, at the Evanston hospital after illness of one week. Services were held in the chapel at 1610 Maple avenue, Evanston, Mon- day, September 21, the Rev. Robert Holmes officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park. ATTEND LECTURE ON BOOKS Many Winnetka book-lovers are said to be interested in a'lecture to be given this Sunday at the Stude- baker theater, Chicago, by Clarence Darrow, famous criminal lawyer, on the subject, "My Favorite Books."
