3x A ---- & 4 October 3, 1925 WINNETKA TALK 33 Friendship Circle Season of Activity Begins Next Tuesday Friendship Circle, the club for girls working in Winnetka homes, which has become a popular community institu- tion, and has given so many girls a chance for happy times and friendly relationships, will begin its year's work Tuesday evening, October 6. All girls who are interested in getting acquainted, or who may enjoy some gymnasium work are invited to present themselves at Community House Tues- day evening at 8:30 o'clock. Mrs. Arthur Sterrett, the new leader of this group, will be on hand to welcome all who come, and Miss Taylor and Miss Carswell will méet with the girls in the gymnasium. The old members will be back, and it is hoped that many new ones may be on hand to join this happy group. If any are interested they will need no other invitation, it is explained. It is hoped by the Community House officials that the housewives of Win- netka will keep this in mind for any girls whom they employ. Mrs. J. V. Stixrud, 607 Willow street, is departing the latter part of next week to spend six weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Erskine Mcleod, ]Jr., at her home in Hollywood, Cal. Community House Starts Gym and Dance Classes Gymnasium classes, dancing classes, and group work begins in Community House this coming week. The morning gymnasium class for women starts Monday morning, and will meet on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the season. Men's classes will meet as usual on Monday evenings, and Wom- en's classes on Tuesday evenings. The Camp Fire Girls are to meet Thursday afternoons, and the Boy Scouts on Friday evenings instead of the usual Thursday evenings. Mrs. Charles Pardee of Highland Park, gave two groups of songs in costume for the opening meeting of the Walden Road circle last Monday at the home of Mrs. Frederick Hen- kel of Walden road. She was accom- panied by Esther Topp. Mrs. Par- dee was in charge of the campaign recently held in Highland Park to conduct a series of musical concerts for the community this fall and win- ter.
