Plan Two All-Day Class Sessions and Evening Meetings During Season Plans for the current season were outlined this week by the officers of New Trier Township high school Parent-Teacher association at a confer- ence in the offices of Superintendent Frederick E. Clerk. The program begins with a meeting of freshmen and sophomore parents, Friday, October 16, when they will be 4 iw to attend classes at the school. November 6 will witness the first of the "open house" days for the parents, at which time they will be invited to attend their children's classes, going through an entire day's program on a shortened period basis. On January 23 the parents and teachers of juniors and seniors will visit the school. April 16 will mark the second "open house" when the program will be similar to that arranged for November 6. Two Evening Meetings The January and April meetings will be evening sessions beginning at 8 o'clock and will be held in the assembly hall. The April meeting will be the one at which the election of officers will take place. At the October 16 meeting it is planned to begin school in the after- noon and run classes through until 9 o'clock, parents of freshmen and soph- omores being invited to visit the school, attend classes, eat with the students in the Mess hall at supper time, and meet with the principal and members of the school board in the assembly hall at 9 o'clock. The meeting of November 6 will be held beginning at 7 o'clock in the evening and running through to 10 o'clock. At this meeting parents will attend the classes of their children on a half-hour period basis. The children themselves will not be present. On this day the parents are expected to attend school at the evening session in order to give their children credit for attendance during the day session. A holiday will be given the students in the day session, but they will be given credit for attendance if their parents attend the evening meeting. Plan Special Sessions A plan is under way to provide a special meeting for mothers which the Girls' club will sponsor, and a special meeting for fathers to be sponsored by the Boys' club. At the meeting of October 16, senior and junior students will act as hosts to the parents of the freshmen and sophomores.
