One is the large brick residence located at 715 Sheridan road, which was for- merly the home of Mrs. Lillian E. Raymond. This property is well known as being one of the finest homes with riparian rights in Evanston. The sale price was $110,000. The other property is the home of A. G. Stewart, which is located at 800 Sheridan road. This home has been sold to A. A. Frank for $52,500. The real estate broker in both deals was Arthur E. Baldwin of Krenn and Dato. Miss Loretta Martin of Washington, D. C., will be the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. David Hallinan of 1050 Spruce street, next week. Miss Mar- tin is on her way to Hot Springs, Ark., where she will spend the winter 'months. A number of affairs have been planned for Miss Martin during her brief stay in the village. ' October 17, 1925 Thornton Wins 7-6 Grid Tussle with New Trier Huskies The New Trier grid men bowed to Thornton, Saturday after a close battle which ended in a 7-6 score. The first points were made in the second quarter by the New Trier quarterback, Jenks, who intercepted a pass intended for a Thornton end, and ran 65 yards for a touchdown. He picked his openings cleverly and was successful in side-stepping the Thorn- ton safety, who made a desperate . ef- fort to stop- him. New Trier failed to kick the goal. New Trier kicked off to Thornton who returned the ball on a punt. New Trier punted to Thornton and the ball was played up to the thirty yard line. At this point Lauer went in for Burrows at full and Weld took Jenk's place as quarter. Lauer failed to re- port to the referee and New Trier was penalized 15 yards. On the next play a Thornton back carried the ball around right end to a touchdown. A place kick put the visitors ahead where they stayed throughout the game. The second half was marked by long gains and fine stiff-arming by Lauer and several consistantly neat tackles by May, New Trier's right end. Hul- bert was put out in the second quarter by a sprained knee, but was able to play again in the third period. Paletti who had not played in a game for the last two weeks on account of an injury, started the third quarter in Lauer's place, and made several long gains; however, he was not allowed to finish the game and Lauer returned in time to make three successive forward passes. The first was incomplete. The second was nabbed by Jenks for a ten yard gain, and the third went to Brown who made fifteen yards on it. Offers Interpretation Course at Music School Walter Spry, the well known pianist and instructor, will conduct an Inter- pretation branch in the Winnetka branch of the Columbia School of Music Wednesday afternoon beginning November 4. This class is for the bene- fit of advanced players who need to enlarge their repertoire and benefit by the stimulating influence of contact with artist pupils. Those not wishing to enroll as playing members, will have the privilege of entering as listeners, it is explained. Mr. Spry has been very successful in conducting these Interpretation classes which are patterned after those conducted by his teacher, Prof. Theo- dore Leschetizky in Vienna. COLLEGE ALUMNAE LUNCHEON The North Shore alumnae of the National Kindergarten and Elementary college have started a very busy year in their college activities.
