Immediately on the hour of 11 o'clock in the morning, every train on this high-speed electric transporta- tion system between Chicago and Mil- waukee stopped, remaining stationary for one minute while employes and passengers joined in silent homage to those who made the great sacrifice. Buglers from North Shore Line Post, the American Legion, were stationed on the platforms at Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Waukegan and Highwood. As soon as the signal had brought all wheels to a standstill, the buglers sounded taps. All cars and stations along the North Shore line were decorated for the occasion. Similar ceremonies were conducted over the entire system of the Chicago Rapid Transit company. Buglers sounded taps from the four overhead bridges in the Loop, following a signal for cessation of traffic, sounded from the sirens in the three traffic towers in the Loop. Rapid Transit cars, over- head bridges and the two stations serv- ing Soldiers' Field, where dedication services were held, were decorated. The Current Topics class will hold its next meeting at the home of Mrs. William Morse of 433 Provident ave- nue. | . - - University Alumni to Attend Novel Reunion A number of University of Chicago alumni are keenly interested in, and will be present at the unique class re- union of the classes Monday, Novem- ber 16, when two members from every class that has been graduated from the University of Chicago since it opened in 1892 will meet in the most novel reunion ever held by the Mid- way institute. Max Mason, president of the univer- sity, will speak at the "get-together" which will be held at noon in the East room of the Hotel LaSalle. North Shore Residents Enjoy Class Reunion The fortieth annual reunion of the class of '85 of the Chicago West Divi- sion High school, which was held last Thursday evening at Maillard's res- taurant in the Straus building held much interest for many members living on the north shore. The dinner was served at 7 o'clock. George W. Dixon, James Gamble Rogers, and Dr. Robert B. Preble gave talks on "Chicago's Growth in the Last Forty Years." Mrs. Ida Tucker Morris of 801 Bryant place, president of the class, presided as toast mistress. Ernest M. Kimball of Glencoe was the class treasurer. = { % Resi North Funeral ments. of Chicago and a host Lewis, who is the only 134 Frederick E. Lewis Mr. Frederick E. Lewis, assisted by Mrs. F. E.
