| i rl November 21, 1925 WINNETKA TALK 11 Voters' League Notes || The entire membership of the Win- netka League of Women Voters has been invited by the Woman's society of the Congregational church to its December 2 meeting, when Mrs. Katherine Waugh McCulloch is to speak. Mrs. McCulloch is a well known Chicago lawyer and has long been prominent in women's club work of many kinds. She lives in Evans- ton. The meeting will take place at 2 o'clock at Community House. Mrs. John Vander Vries of Win- netka was sent last week by the Illi- nois League of Women Voters to speak at the open meeting of the Jerwyn League of Women Voters at Berwyn, Ill. Mrs. Vander Vries told a little of the history of the origin of the league, the league's purposes, and the work accomplished by it. The card party given by the Win- netka League of Women Voters filled the Woman's club Thursday after- noon, November 12. Forty tables were set out and all were taken. The forty prizes were of great charm and variety, including candle sticks, Italian vases, a silk umbrella, candles, and station- ery. Mrs. Isaac Rothschild, chairman of the committee on arrangements, was assisted in the serving of re- freshments by Mrs. John Vander Vries, Mrs. Austin Jenner, and Miss Elizabeth Gemmell. The reading given by Mrs. Burton Hanson at the home of Mrs. Hath- away Watson, was also very well at- tended. Altogether $250 was raised for the league, so that the officers ex- pect that the rest of the money needed to meet the league's budget can ships. The drive for these member- ships is being conducted by the finance committee of which Mrs. Austin Jen- ner is chairman. Art Patrons Encourage Interest in Local Work Curtis B. Camp, 81 Lakewood drive; Glencoe, president of the Municipal art league of Chicago, with 100 lay members signed for the Chicago Galleries association, is boosting Mid- western and Western art. The second floor of the building at 220 North Michigan avenue, Chicago, has been rented for a period of six years. North Shore members of the organiza- tion include George W. Mieth, Calvin Fentress, John Hardin, Francis Hardy, August Babize, Curtis Camp and Walter Murphy. Mr. Camp announces that a circulating department of the association will open in a short time. Those who are members may take home small pictures or bronzes which may be kept for 60 days, after which they may be exchanged for others. This department is limited to 1,000 members.
