iia J November 21, 192% WINNETKA TALK Winnetka Music Club : Will Meet in Glencoe The Winnetka Music club will meet at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Pope, 610 Longwood avenue, Glencoe, Monday, November ,23, at 8 o'clock. An evening of folk tales and folk songs will be given by Ruth Sawyer and Helen Abbott Byfield. Miss Sawyer, author and playwright, is well known as an authority in the folk lore of many nations, especially of Ireland. Mrs. Byfield, soprano, a member of the Winnetka Music club, needs no introduction to north shore residents. Until last season, the Winnetka Music club was known as the North Shore MacDowell society. of ANNOUNCE LUNCHEON The Chicago and North Shore branch of the English Speaking union will give a luncheon Tuesday, Novem- ber 24, at 12:30 o'clock, in the Red room of the Hotel LaSalle in honor of James C. B. Garnett, executive secretary of the League of Nations in Great Britain. Mr. Garnett will speak on "World Co-operation." Lake Bluff Woman's Club Plans Guest Night Plays The Lake Bluff Woman's club is offering its guest night entertainment Tuesday evening, November 24, at 8 o'clock, at the Lake Bluff school audi- torium, when north shore residents wil! have the opportunity to see in persor a number of players well known as Radio stars, who will appear, under the direction of William Zeigler Nourse, in three short plays; "Four- teen" by Alice Gerstenberg; "The Flattering Word," by George Kelly, and "Gentlemen of the Road" by Charles McEvoy. Mrs. James E. Northcott, chairman of the music committee of the club, will play the violin, O. J. Kleer, the 'cello, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. H. W. Cook. Mrs. Maurice Mandeville is in charge of arrangements, assisted by Mrs. Frederick N. Litten, chairman of the program committee. Mrs. Ar- thur Van Vlissingen, Jr. is president of the Lake Bluff Woman's club, and Miss Juliette Brown is secretary.
