One was captured and two others escaped. The burglars stole a Cadillac car be- longing to Carl J. Zipprich, 623 Forest avenue, from his garage on Wednesday evening, November 12. The theft was discovered in the morning and Wil- mette police notified the Chicago de- partment, asking them to be on the lookout for the car. The burglars broke into the home of C. H. Kallstedt, 500 Hawthorne lane, Winnetka, last Sunday evening, while the family was away, and took furs, clothing, jewelry and cash with a total value of $1,200. They were speeding south through Lincoln Park when a motorcycle policeman attempted to stop them. They made an effort to outdistance him, and when unsuccess- ful, stopped the car and fled on foot through the park. The policeman fired several shots at the trio and finally captured one who was taken to the Chicago avenue police station where he was held for North Shore police. The loot was found in the automobile. Mrs. Robert Menren, 785 Walden road, was hostess Monday to sixteen guests at luncheon and bridge. The guests of honor were Mrs. G. A. Tony Sarg's marionettes are coming to Winnetka again. They will give two performances of "Treasure Island" at Skokie school Wednesday, December 2. There will be an afternoon per- formance for the special benefit of the children and an evening performance for adults. The play to be given. will be particularly interesting both to the children and their parents, as it is one of those tales for young and old alike which never grows old. Tony Sarg's marionettes are the most ad- vanced type shown in this country and are perhaps the most artistically deco- rated of any in the world. Tickets for the performances will be on sale at the Community pharmacy and at the Hubbard Woods pharmacy, it is announced. { Dir 28 Have you seen the new tableware? [t is solid--No Plating.
