i) ~~ November 28, 1925 WINNETKA TALK 7 Benefit for Chicago | Junior School Will | Be Important Affair One of the worthwhile big affairs | of the coming week is the benefit | dance, entertainment, and buffet supper given by the North End branch of | Friend of Chicago Junior school, of which Arthur M. Millard is president. The event will take place Friday night, December 4, in the Salle Royale of the Sovereign hotel, at 8:30 o'clock. One of the best orchestras in Chicago will play. Well known actors of some of the downtown theaters have expressed their willingness to assist in this worthy cause of bringing nearer the time when the North End branch can establish cottages for girls to accom- modat= the increasing demand to enter this school for children from broken homes. Here, in the farm home situated on a beautiful hundred-acre tract of land on the Fox river, one mile north of Elgin, children are given the advantages of a fine environment and training. The officers of this school, which is non-sectarian in principle, are, in ad- dition to the president, Andrew E. Buesch, first vice-president; Edgar Foster Alden of Winnetka, second vice-president; Franc D. Mayer, third vice-president; Mrs. Marcelite Eng- lander, recording secretary; Miss Winifred Garrison, corresponding sec- retary; Mrs. Edna Eno Walter, financial secretary; Mrs. A. E. Buesch, treasurer. Mrs. Edgar Foster Alden is social hostess. The organization has many north shore members. Mrs. Richard Yates Hoffman, 921 Pine street, is entertaining about twenty-four guests at dinner at her home this evening preceding the Skokie Subscription club dance at the Winnetka Woman's club.
