MARION In Scoutdom The Boy Scout meetings on January 15 of Troop 1, 2 and 3, held some in- teresting features. Mr. Mills, Scout- master of Troop 3, had a friend give a talk on the habits of the animals, after which the different patrols are named. His knowledge of animals and his skill in imitating their calls fur- nished a delightful and instructive eve- ning and one that will long be re- membered by the Scouts. Troop 1 held an intra-troop contest in Knot-tying and the O'Grady drill down. After troop 2 had completed the usual business, all the Scouts met in the gymnasium for 30 minutes and after some lively games were played, the troops dismissed. At the meeting of January 22, the Scouts of Troop 3 devoted the entire evening to work on the Scout poles, under the instruction of Mr. Mills and the Patrol leaders. Dr. Eisenbrand, the Scoutmaster of Troop 2 gave instruc- tion in Scout work. Afterwards a knot-tying contest was held for the benefit of those who need practice. Troop 1 had intra-troop contests in signalling and first-aid bandaging. They held a short session in the gym- nasium for the usual period of fun. For the benefit of the Scouts who wish to pass tests, there will be a meet- «+ of the Scout Council this Friday, January 29. Be Prepared!
