Two weeks ago this group had an enjoyable hike, and with the assistance of their guardian, Vivian Ratcliffe, are making maps showing the territory they covered. One other ceremonial was held Jan- vary 21, and that by the "Itansicket Group." Honors were awarded at the same time. Last Thursaay atternoon during the general assembly of Camp Fire a knot- | tying contest was held. Rae Mayer of the "Tatapochon" Group was the vic- tor. The "Takantahi Group" (Mrs. Eisen- brand, guardian) gave a tea two weeks ago to greet their new members and on Thursday, January 28, held a cer- emonial to formally accept them into the group. They are planning a supper on Friday, February 5, when the girls will work for some of their honors in cooking and serving. Last week the Un-ta-lu-ti group, Mrs. Marshall, guardian, challenged the Litanni group, (Miss Spangler's group) to a knot-tying contest at assembly of Camp Fire on January 28. Mr. and Mrs. Howard V. O'Brien of 630 Blackthorne road are leaving Feb- ruary 5 for a three weeks' trip south. They expect to spend most of the time in Palm Beach, Fla. Mrs. Roswell Mason will read a story during the | morning, the luncheon will be unique, | and following it, will come a play under | the auspices of the Community Drama club, "The China Pig," by Emily Ewig. Mrs. Louis A. Sherman is director, and the cast comprises Mrs. Sherman Goble, Mrs. Clarence Happ, Miss Kath- arine Shaw. The luncheon will be served as usual at 12:15 at the usual rate, plus the birthday money. Not having made provision for a very impelling opportunity presented to them through the work of Mr. and Mrs. Wolsted, the society is thus com bining both fun and profit, to respond to this special chance to provide a school for the native children where the Wolsteds are located at Maria madura, India. LOSES MOTHER BY DEATH Announcement is made of -the death of Mrs. Elisa Graham, mother of Mrs. H. B. McKenzie of 402 Hawthorne lane. Wednesday afternoon, January 20. Mrs. Graham had not been very well for several weeks but her condition was not considered serious and her death came as a shock to her friends. Mrs. Ralph Varney of 335 Cherry street will be hostess to a few friends at a shower Wednesday, February 3, in honor of Mrs. George Young of Evanston, formerly of Winnetka.
