Schroeder Dies at Home in Quincy, IIL John M. Schroeder, 44 years of age, died at his home in Quincy, Ill, Mon- day, January 25, after a short illness caused by uremic poisoning. He is [survived by his wife and one son, Alfred, and three brothers and one sis- ter. The brothers are Paul Schroeder, of Wilmette and Miami, Florida ; Louis, of Bowen, Ill, and Walter, of Ham- mond, Ind. The sister is Mrs. Louis Huebner, of Coatsburg. The late Henry Schroeder, of Kenilworth, was another brother. Mrs. Hoyt King, 711 Forest avenue, entertained the members of the H. and W. club at dinner Wednesday evening. --Q-- Mrs. Guy R. SIZES 11 to 2 Carrie Chapman Catt Is Chicago Forum Speaker The woman who led the movement for the adoption of the woman suffrage amendment to the Constitution of the United States, Mrs. Carrie Chapman Catt, will speak at the Chicago Forum Sunday afternoon, February 7, Fred A. Moore, director of the Forum an- nounced this week. Mrs. Catt in her campaign all over the country for wo man suffrage up to 1919, and since that time in behalf of education of women as citizens, has earned the title of "America's greatest woman orator." During the war she was a leading mem- ber of the Women's committee of the Council for National Defense. Since the war she has been conspicuous as an outstanding leader in the movements for international peace. She will speak at the Forum meeting in the Olympic Theatre Sunday afternoon on "The Causes and Cure of War." The ad- dress will be followed by the usual question period. Mrs. Lewis B. Sprineer of 430 Maple avenue spent last week-end at Grand View Health resort at Waukesha Wis., with Mr. Springer. He is grad- ually improving in health with the treatment there and hopes to return to Wilmette within ten days or two weeks. SRW 2 Al Peacock of Lake Geneva was the ouest of Bill Jordan, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Jordan of the Linden Crest apartments, for the first part of this week, during the occasion of their mid-semester vacation from the Uni- versity of Illinois. --Q-- Mrs. Arthur Brown is entertaining a few friends at her home in High- | land Park next Wednesday for Mrs. Sam Dingee.
