Rr ------ rr April 24, 1926 WINNETKA TALK Engage Rooms for State Convention of Women's Clubs The local board, Mrs. William Frank- lin Farrell, chairman for the State Convention, to be held May 18-21, at Edgewater Beach hotel, Chicago, has been busy the last week arranging for rooms for convention purposes. All rooms are located in south end of hotel which are to be given over to convention use. Miss Mollie McEniry of Moline, chairman of credentials com- mittee, will be located in the Berwyn room, and books will be open May 17 from 3:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon, and from 8:30 Tuesday, May 18, until 3:00 on Wednesday. Polls will be open at 8:30 Thursday until 12:00 for election of president, second vice-president, and general fed- eration director. In the foyer leading to Assembly room, there will be desks for in forma- tion bureaus, Post Office, for press ex- hibit, and the official magazine, the Il- linois Clubwoman's World. Room 188 is for press correspondents, room 190 A, will have exhibit of work made by pupils of the Park Ridge School for Girls under the direction of Mrs. R. W. Richards, state chairman. Room 190 R. is set aside as a rest room and will be in charge of the Health committee under direction of the health chairman of the local board. The West room will house the Art ex- hibit, under direction of Mrs. Charles W. Leigh, state chairman. Pictures by Illinois artists will be featured as well as posters by eighth grade entries in the "Spirit of Play" contest for which the Art department is offering prizes. Articles made by World War veterans will also be displayed in this room. Mrs. Harry Stotlar of Benton, chair- man of the American home department, was in town last week selecting rooms for the model home exhibit. These rooms will be on the second floor of the hotel and will be open for inspec- tion by club women the entire week of convention. Wednesday afternoon at 4:45 there will be a Co-operation with War Veterans Department tea in the West room presided over by Miss Marion Hoffman, state chairman. There will be a motor corps for con- venience of visiting members under chairmanship of Mrs. Burnett D. Warner, 1423 Rascher avenue, of the ninth district. Mrs. Albert E. Pierce of 550 Cedar street, her baby son, and her mother, Mrs. Wilmot Townsend, returned Mon- day from a month's sojourn in Biloxi, Miss. and Hot Spring, Ark. ---- E. C. Weissenberg of Elm street and F. W. Sheahen of Highland Park, left last week for a short trip to Hot Springs, Ark., Biloxi, and New Orleans. Regular play is scheduled to begin this Saturday. An informal roundup dinner held Thursday night at which new members were welcomed and the old guard viewed the many changes made dur- ing the winter in clubhouse accom- modations.
