Festival Soloist When the Chicago North Shore Fes- tival opens at Evanston, May 24, the second concert of the series of six-- this will be given May 25--will bring to the north shore Ossip Gabrilowitsch, who will play in a Tschaikowsky pro- gram the piano concerto by the Rus- sian master. Mr. -Gabrilowitsch-shares with Fred- erick Stock the distinction of being one of the busiest music-makers in the land; for he is not only a superlatively gifted piano virtuoso, but the conductor of the Detroit Symphony orchestra {and of the choral organization in con- nection with the orchestra. As a pian- ist Gabrilowitsch is regarded as the principal living interpreter of Tschai- kowsky--a fact which is not surprising when it is remembered that he, too, is a Russian and a pupil of the Petrograd Conservatory before he became, with Paderewski, the most famous student of Lechetizky. In addition to the concerto by Tschaikowsky the program will con- tain the Russian's master's F minor symphony and the "Nut-cracker" suite, both of which will be played by the Chicago Symphony orchestra directed by Mr. Stock. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wilson, who have resided in Chicago, have pur- chased a house in Winnetka and are moving to their new abode this week.
