Phone Deerfield 241 Local Boy Scouts to Greet Founder in Chicago May § Boy Scouts of the north shore, with Scouts from Chicago and other towns of the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michi- gan and Wisconsin, which comprise the Seventh region, ten thousand in all, will rally in honor of the "Chief Scout of the World," Lieutenant-General Sir Robert S. S. Baden-Powell, of London, at 3 o'clock. Saturday afternoon, May 8, at Dexter Park Pavilion in Chicago. 3aden-Powell, the founder of the British Boy Scout association and the Boy Scout movement, will visit Chi- cago Friday and Saturday. He is now on a short tour of the United States following his participation in the six- teenth annual meeting of the National Council, Boy Scouts of America, held in Washington, April 30 and May 1. With General Leroy T. Stewart, Scout Commissioner of Chicago, as marshall, the rally program will be brief. But with ten thousand stalwart youngsters, in khaki uniforms, passing in review before their world leader, banners flying and the boys giving mass vells, the huge pavilion will pre- sent a remarkable spectacle. Patriotic music will be played by the Seascout band from Grand Rapids and the Joliet grade school band of 85 boys, every one a Scout. Sir Robert Baden- Powell will award Fgale badges to thirty scouts who have attained the rank, the highest in Scoutdom, since March 1. He will also make a short talk. GIVE SURPRISE DINNER The Young Women's Missionary so- ciety of the Wilmette Parish Method- ist church will give a dinner and en- tertainment which, it is hinted, will be surprisingly unique, on Tuesday eve- ning, May 11. The dinner will be served at 6:30 o'clock. The nature of the entertainment is being kept sec- ret, but it will be given by a young woman, it is announced. Margaret Hadley Married May 1 at Church Ceremony Miss Margaret Hadley and J. Anthony Humphreys were united in marriage at the Congregational church at 3 o'clock, Saturday, May 1. Rev. James Austin Richards read the serv- ice, and Raymond Allyn Smith, at the organ, played the wedding march. The church was beautifully deco- rated with palms, spring flowers and large bouquets of white flowers. Miss Emily Hadley, the bride's sister, was maid of honor, and R. N. Tredwell of Joliet served Mr. Humphreys as best man. The ushers were Frank Bailey, and Edgar Dale of Winnetka, and Allin Hugh Pierce of Wilmette Fol- lowing the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Hadley, 913 Oak street. The out-of-town guests were Dr. W. F. Bohn, assistant to the president of Oberlin college, Oberlin, Ohio: Prof. and Mrs. Harold Humphreys of the University of Chicago: Dr. and Mrs. Hugh S. Henderson, Dr. and Mrs. Emmons S. Coe, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hayes, of Evanston: Mrs. Margaret Sturgeon and Mrs. Harold Halverson of Champaign, Ill.: Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Winters and Miss Harriet E. Winters, Miss Pauline McKeegan and Paul Donald Snow of Chicago, and Mrs. Harold Cleveland of Waukegan. Mr. and Mrs. Humphreys are spend- ing their honeymoon in the East, and will be at home at 722 Elm street, Winnetka, after June 1. Mr. and Mrs. Montague Ferry, 419 Sheridan road, have leased their home for the summer to Mrs. Eugene Ford. At present they are in Lake Forest with Mr. Ferry's mother, Mrs. Abby Farwell Ferry. pn Miss Margaret Louise Laver, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. H.
