FI. oy ) iaiimn---- May 15, 1926 WINNETKA TALK Chicagoan Builds New Residence at Wilmette Corner One of the few remaining building sites in the southeast part of Wilmette is being improved by the new owner, Bernard H. Miller, who is building a beautiful eight-room brick residence at the southwest corner of Fifth street and Maple avenue, the corner, im- proved, representing an investment of about $35,000, it is said. The building will be of brick veneer, and the lay- out, in addition to the eight rooms, al- so includes a sun-room, breakfast room, sleeping porch and three baths. The lot has fifty feet frontage on Maple, with 189 on Fifth street, af- fording both south and east frontage. A two-car brick garage will be erected on the rear of the lot. Mr. Miller is vice-president and sales manager of a large manufactur- ing concern, the Heco Envelope com- pany, of Chicago. The family moved out to Wilmette May 1, locating tem- porarily at 924 Greenwood avenue, in order that Mr. Miller might be in closer touch with the work of build- ing their new home. Work out Road Patrol for Congress Visitors State, county and township officials are co-operating to properly police and maintain highways leading to Munde- lein, Ill, where, on June 24, the final event in connection with the Interna- tional Eucharistic Congress of the Roman Catholic church is to be staged. The Congress will attract more than a million visitors, many of whom will come by automobiles from all parts of the country. There are to be nine trunk lines leading to St. Mary's Seminary at Mundelein. It is expected that more than 8,000 automobiles will traverse each line, parking accommodations having been provided near the seminary grounds for 72,000 cars. Many towns in Cook and Lake counties are making special appropria- tions for policing and other contin- gencies on that day, it is stated.
