Definite Program Necessary "In the Public Service Company of | Northern Illinois, and other companies with which I am connected," continued Mr. Budd, "a definite plan is followed for guiding the progress of such col- lege graduates as enter our employ. It is the belief of those responsible for this plan that a systematic training period immediately following employ- ment, is essential to the gaining of a general insight into the functioning of the company's various departments. Balaban of Euclid ave- nue opened her home again Tuesday, May 4, for the last in a series of dramatic readings and musicales by Sara Biala, an artist from New York. Madam Biala rendered an interpretive reading of "Dybbuk" now being played at the Great Northern theatre. Miss Marian Coryell of Indian Hill played a group of her own compositions pre- ceding the reading. This series has been sponsored by a group of north shore women as a benefit for the Chicago Junior School for Boys, at Elgin. Mrs. Balaban is a member of the advisory board.
