Re Ye i May 22, 1926 WINNETKA TALK Many Groups to Participate in Memorial Parade Memorial Day exercises on Monday, May 31, will begin with the assembling at Community House at 9:30 a. m. of all the participating organizations. These organizations are the American Legion Post, Boy Scouts, Sea Scouts, Pathfinders, Camp Fire Girls, Girl Scouts, and school children. Thence the parade will move to the northwest corner of the Village Green. The set program will begin on the Green at 10 o'clock. It will consist of numbers by the band, singing of pat- riotic airs by the entire assembly, ad- dress, and appropriate military cere- monies. The program will also contain the decoration of Memorial trees by the Camp Fire Girls, taps on the trum- pets, singing of the national anthem after the raising of the flag, and will close with the benediction. Present Petition for New Storm Water Sewer Residents of the vicinity of Hibbard road and Hamptondale avenue pre- sented a petition for a storm water sewer system to the Board of Local Improvements at its meeting last Tuesday evening. Those who present- ed the petition said that under the present system the storm water drains into the sanitary sewer, which is al- ready overloaded, and that after every rain water from the sewer backs up into the basements of residents. Esti- mates for the cost of a storm sewer will be submitted to the Board of Lo- cal Improvements by the Village en- gineer. Mrs. George W. Keehn entertained her Kenilworth bridge club at lunch- eon at Indian Hill club Tuesday, later taking her guests to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Reed Landis, in Deer- field, where they played bridge. Improve Ventilation in Rudolph Matz Hall The board of governors of Commu- nity House this week appropriated a large sum of money for the installa- tion of new ventilating equipment in Rudolph Matz hall. Some time ago the inadequacy of the present system was realized and a committee formed to study various types of installation. A report of their findings was presented at the gover- nors' meeting last Monday and the ex- penditure approved. Work will be started as soon as the architect's ap- proval is received so that the new equipment will be in use about the first of June.
